During Soviet era, Ukrainian history was rewritten and many great deeds were either erased or bent to serve the KGB propaganda.

1. The first ever democratic constitution was written but Ukrainian hetman (president) Pylyp Orlyk in 1710 some 77 years before the American one.

2. People of Trypil culture, what matched those of Ancient Egypt and Greece, lived in the territories of modern Ukraine already back in 6000BC.

4. The first kidney transplant operation in the world was carried out in Ukraine. It happened in Kharkiv in 1933.

5. X-rays were actually discovered by Ukrainian scientist Ivan Pulyuy in 1892, 3 years before Wilhelm Röntgen. However, the latter was more active in promoting the subject and got the glory.

6. Ukrainians built and remain to build the world’s largest airplanes and space shuttles. “Mriya” (Ukrainian for “Dream”) is unbeatable since 1988 when it took over Ruslans, operational since 1982. Ruslans are widely used until today, especially in large NATO operations.
